Babz Lupoli

Babz Lupoli is an experimental mixed media artist who retired from her career in elementary education and relocated to the Daytona Beach area in 2002.  She specializes in collage with rich textures and a vivid color palette.

She has lived in 10 states throughout her lifeime.  After graduating from SUNY at Oswego in upstate New York, she began her elementary teaching career in Baltimore County, Maryland.   Babz completed 32 years in the classroom and as an administrator with a Masters Degree in Management & Supervision from Loyola College before retiring in 2002.

After relocating to the Daytona area, she enrolled in her first class at the Art League.  She fell in love with oils, the discipline, and the artists.  Studing with Robin Moore, Judy Gilmer, Titane Laurent and Gail Bokor in the experimental mixed media genre, she discovered the freedom of abstract art.
Babz is driven to create big bold energetic pieces that draw the viewer inside and make them feel and seek something new or hidden within themselves.  She paints intuitively and is continuously amazed at the shapes and concepts that show up as if by magic.  Recycling various papers and tidbits of life onto her pieces is especially gratifying.
